The Tennessee Valley Authority Watauga Damp Campground puts you close to the Appalachian Trail and Watauga Lake. We visited in late October/early November of 2025.

Watauga Lake.
Watauga Dam created Watauga Lake. The dam creates electric power.
Vic hiked the AT in 2003. He remembers passing through here.
